Procedure

  2. Right-click SQL Server, point to All Tasks, and then click New SQL Server.

The Properties of SQL Server dialog box appears.

  3. From the Instance Name list, select the instance that you want to assign to this SQL Server.

  4. To run backups or restores using a specific account, configure the user account at the instance level:

    1. On the Accounts tab, select the Override Higher Level Settings check box.

    2. Do one of the following:

      • Use Local System Account: To use the local system account, select this option.

      • Impersonate User: To use a specific account, select this option, and from the Credential list, select the credential for the SQL server. The list of credentials will be filtered according to OS and type of SQL server.
