Monitoring Policy Wizard: Select Associations/Proxy Clients

Use this page in the wizard to select the client computers and/or client groups that you want to associate with the monitoring policy.

Based on the template, expand Client Computer Groups and/or Client Computers to select the appropriate entities:

  • For Text Log Files and SysLogs, select the clients and/or client groups that contain the logs you want to monitor.

  • For On Demand, select the proxy clients where you want the log files to be distributed after you upload the files to the Log Monitoring application.

  • For Windows Events, select the client and/or client groups where you want to monitor Windows events.

  • For Activity Monitoring, select the local client and/or client groups where you want to monitor the user activity events.

Select All

Associates all the client and client groups with the monitoring policy.

Clear All

Clears any of the current associations from the monitoring policy.

Monitor the following remotely

Manage the remote Windows computers that you want to monitor. To add a computer, click Add and enter the hostname/IP address of the computer. To delete a computer, select the computer from the list, and then click Delete.

Select proxy

Select a Windows client computer to use as a proxy client to monitor the remote computers.

AD User

Enter the username of a user with Event Log Readers permission for the remote Windows computers added above.

Password

Enter the password of the user.
