Restoring Files and Folders from the Web Console

From the Web Console, you can restore the backed-up files and files that are shared on your client computer or Edge Drive, to the same computer or to a different client computer.

Procedure

  1. From the Web Console, click My Data.

  2. In the left navigation pane, click the appropriate tab, and then go to the file or folder that you want to restore:

    • To access a file or folder on a client computer, click Computers, and then click Restore for the computer that contains the file or folder.

      Alternatively, you can click Settings for the computer that contains the file or folder, and then click Select Files in the Restore section.

    • To access a file or folder on Edge Drive, click Drive.

    • To access a file or folder that was already shared to you, click Shares.

  3. Right-click the file or folder, and then select Restore.

    Alternatively, you can select the check box that is beside the file or folder, and then click Restore.

    The Restore Options dialog box appears.

  4. You can restore data as shown in the following table.

    Restore data to the same client and folder from where it was backed up

    1. To overwrite the existing file or folder in the original destination path, select the Overwrite files and folders if they exist check box.

    2. Click Restore Now.

    Restore data to a different path on the same client computer

    1. Clear the Restore to Original Folder box.

    2. To define the destination path, in the Destination Path box, click the folder icon folder_icon.

      The Select Restore Destination Path dialog box appears.

    3. Find the folder, and then click Select.

    4. To overwrite the existing file or folder in the destination path, select the Overwrite files and folders if they exist check box.

    5. Click Restore Now.

    Restore data to a different client computer

    1. In the Destination Computer list, select the client computer where you want to restore the file or folder.

    2. To define the destination path, in the Destination Path box, click the folder icon folder_icon.

      The Select Restore Destination Path dialog box appears.

    3. Find the folder, and then click Select.

    4. To overwrite the existing file or folder in the destination path, select the Overwrite files and folders if they exist check box.

    5. Click Restore Now.

    Restore data from your Edge Drive

    1. From the Destination Computer list, select a client computer where you want to restore the file or folder.

    2. To define the destination path, in the Destination Path box, click the folder icon folder_icon.

      The Select Restore Destination Path dialog box appears.

    3. Find the folder, and then click Select.

    4. To overwrite the existing file or folder in the destination path, select the Overwrite files and folders if they exist check box.

    5. Click Restore Now.

    Restore data to a UNC path

    1. Clear the Restore to Original Computer check box.

    2. To define the destination path, in the Destination Computer list, select Network Path.

      Optional: To access the network share through a client computer, in the Destination Computer list, select a client computer.

    3. In the Destination Path box, type the UNC path (for example, \\client1\restore).

    4. Select the Restore as This User check box.

    5. Enter the domain user nameand password for the UNC path. For example, domain1\user1.

    6. To overwrite the existing file or folder in the destination path, select the Overwrite files and folders if they exist check box.

    7. Click Restore Now.
