Secured files must be unlocked before you can open and read the contents of the file. You can unlock individual files or unlock all of the files within a folder. To unlock a file, you must be an authorized user of the file. An authorized user is typically the user account that locked the file.
Before You Begin

Your administrator must enable DLP for your laptop. For more information, see Enabling Data Loss Prevention for all Users in a Plan.

Create a DLP passkey before you lock items on your laptop. If you lock items before creating a DLP passkey, you can only unlock the files when your laptop connects to the Commvault environment.
Procedure

On your laptop, open Windows Explorer.

Go to the file or folder you want to lock.

Right-click the file or folder, point to Edge, and click Unlock.

If prompted, enter your passkey.
