Before starting the upgrade process for your HyperScale X nodes, it's essential to be aware of several key points related to system customizations performed on systems prior to upgrade. Not all system customizations may be preserved as part of the upgrade process.
Additional Commvault Packages
Any additional Commvault packages installed on HSX nodes may not be retained during the upgrade. Ensure you capture details of these packages before starting the migration. At the completion of migration, the following packages will be present on the system:

File System Core

File System
-
Virtual Server Agent

Cloud Apps
If any additional Commvault packages were deployed to the HyperScale X nodes, you must plan on re-deploying these packages after the upgrade is complete.
Third-Party Applications
Any third-party applications installed on the HSX nodes, such as security or monitoring tools/agents, will not be retained during the upgrade. Capture any settings for these applications prior to upgrade and plan to re-deploy these applications after the upgrade is complete.
Operating System Settings
While attempts are made to retain operating system settings during the upgrade, some settings may not be captured or may not be directly compatible with the latest version. Consult the customization settings guide and review the guidance for any changes made to the HyperScale X operating system prior to performing the upgrade.
