You can unregister the vCenter plug-in and then reregister it again. You may need to do this in following scenarios:
-
You are migrating the CommServe from one computer to another.
-
You perform a CommServe failover.
-
You want to use the plug-in for a different vCenter.
-
You upgrade the Virtual Server Agent on the client used for registering the plug-in.
-
You upgrade the Web Server and Web Console.
Follow the steps given below to unregister the plug-in:
-
From the CommCell Console, navigate to Client Computers > virtualization_client > Virtual Server.
-
Right-click VMware and click Properties.
-
Clear the Register vCenter Plugin check box to unregister the plug-in.
-
Click OK to save the instance.
-
Login to vCenter Server using vSphere client.
-
Click Plug-ins > Manage Plug-ins.
-
Ensure that the Manage Virtual Machine plug-in is not available in the Plug-in Manager.
Once you create a new VMware vCenter client for a vCenter, you must register the plug-in again by selecting the Register vCenter Plugin check box on the Virtual Server Instance Properties dialog box. If you do not register the plug-in, the Manage Virtual Machine plug-in will not be available in the Plug-in Manager in the vSphere Client.
Note
If an attempt to unregister the vCenter Plug-in from the CommCell Console is unsuccessful, perform the steps in Unregistering the vCenter Plug-in.
