Adding a Windows File Server

To archive data on a UNIX file server, add the file server.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Archiving.

    The File Servers page appears.

  2. In the upper-right corner of the page, click Add server.

    The Add server dialog box appears.

  3. Click File server.

    The Add file server dialog box appears.

  4. On the Add new server tab, from the Server Type list, select Windows.

  5. In the Display name box, enter a display name for the Windows file server.

  6. From the Host name box, enter the fully qualified name of the Windows file server.

  7. In the User name box, enter the windows user name.

  8. In the Password box, type the password.

  9. In the Confirm Password box, type the password again.

  10. To restart the file server, move the Reboot if required toggle key to the right.

  11. To install the driver to recall stubs later, move the Install Driver for File Archiver toggle key to the right.

  12. From the Plan list, click to select the archive plan to use for the file server.

  13. In the Archive folder path, type the path to a local drive on the computer or to the CIFS share.

  14. On the Content tab, specify the content to archive.

  15. Click Save.
