License Administration

You can manage and monitor licensing programs in the CommCell environment using the licensing mechanisms in the Commvault software. The Commvault licensing program guide defines the available licenses and how they work, while the licensing mechanisms enforce the licensing programs in the software.

After you purchase a license, it is automatically uploaded to the CommServe computer.

The different types of licensing mechanisms appear in both the Command Center and the CommCell Console where you can perform any of the following actions:

• View the licenses that are applied to the CommCell environment

• Apply a new license

• Update an evaluation license to a permanent license

• Monitor licensing mechanisms using the License Summary Report

• View available licensing programs in the Commvault Licensing Program Guide
