Data Views for the Laptop Backup Health Report

The Laptop Backup Health report displays information about the backup status of laptops in the environment.

Filters

Company: To view information only for laptops belonging to specific companies, click the Company list, and then select one or more companies. By default, all companies in the CommCell environment are selected.

Default SLA Days: To view information for the default SLA duration, which is 30 days, or for a different time range, click the Default SLA Days list, and select one of the time duration options. By default, Default SLA Days is selected.

Status Tiles and Summary Table

Report for a single company

You can view information about laptops in a single company in the status tiles.

Note

The Summary table does not appear when viewing the report for a single company.

  1. On the upper-left corner of the Laptop Backup Health page, in the Company list, select a company.

    The status tiles appear.

  2. To view more information, such as the number of backed-up laptops, click the number in each Backed Up tile.

    The Backed Up Laptops table appears.

Report for all Companies

  • You can view the aggregate information about all laptops in the CommCell environment in the status tiles.

  • You can view each individual company laptops' information in the Summary table.

To view a report for all companies:

  1. On the upper-left corner of the Laptop Backup Health page, in the Company list, move the Select all toggle key to the right.

    The status tiles appear with aggregate information and the Summary table appears with individual company information.

  2. To view additional information all laptops, click Additional Info.

Status Tiles

Status tiles display information about laptops in a single company or in the entire CommCell environment. Clicking the number in a status tile, opens the relevant table or the relevant Command Center page.

For example, clicking the number in the Total Laptops status tile, opens the Laptops page in the Command Center.

Additionally, clicking the number in the Not Backed Up status tile, opens the Laptops Not Backed Up table.

Summary Table Column and Status Tiles Description

Column

Description

Company

The name of the company the laptops belong to.

Failure Reason

The reason the last backup job was a failure.

Install Date

The date that the Commvault software was installed on the laptop.

Laptop

The laptop name.

Laptop Backup Status

Backed-up or not backed-up status of the laptop.

Last Job Status

The status of the last backup job.

Last Successful Backup Time

The date and time of the last successful backup.

Total Laptops

The total number of laptops, including deconfigured laptops, in the company.

Backed Up

The number of successfully backed-up laptops in the selected SLA period, in the company.

Not Backed Up

The number of laptops in the company that are not successfully backed up in the SLA period, because:

  • The backup job failed. Verify that the network connectivity between each laptop, the network gateway, and cloud blob storage is good.

  • Backup schedules are not assigned. Verify that the laptop is activated or switched on.

Excluded

The number of laptops excluded from the SLA calculation, because:

  • Laptop is recently installed.

  • Laptop has been offline. Verify the network connectivity of the Laptop and whether it is switched on.

  • Laptop is deconfigured.

  • Backups are disabled.

Recently Installed

The number of laptops on which the Commvault laptop package was installed in the last 30 days.

Additional Info Table

The Additional Info table displays additional information about laptops in a company.

Column

Description

Last Offline Time

The last time the laptop was offline and did not communicate with the CommServe server.

Last Online Time

The last time the laptop was online and communicated with the CommServe server.

Last Backup Time

The date and time of the last successful backup.

OS

The operating system of the laptop.

Owner Email

The email addresses of the laptop owners.

Plan Name

The associated laptop plan name.

Region

The region associated to the laptop.

Retire time

The date and time the laptop was retired.

Total Backup Size

The size of data that was backed up.

Update status

The laptop status.

User group

The user groups associated to the laptop.

Version

The Commvault software version installed on the laptop.

Company

The name of the company the laptops belong to.

Laptop

The laptop name.

Owner

The names of the laptop owners.

SLA Reason

Indicates whether or not the laptop was backed up according to SLA:

  • Protected: Laptop was backed up according to SLA.

  • Longtime Offline: Laptop was not backed up according to the SLA.

Exclusion Category

The reason the laptop was excluded from the last backup.
