To create Thin Image (TI) snapshots with cascade mode, enable the cascade mode and provide a Dynamic Provisioned (DP) pool.
Before You Begin
-
Thin Image (TI) snapshots that were created without cascade mode cannot co-exist with snapshots in cascade mode. Read Considerations About Cascade Mode for the Instant Clone Feature on Hitachi Vantara.
-
Make sure that the pool that you are going to specify is not a dynamic tiering (DT) pool.
Procedure
-
From the CommCell Browser, click the Storage tab, and then click the Array Management icon.
The Array Management dialog box appears.
-
Select a Hitachi Vantara array, and then click Edit.
The Array Properties dialog box appears.

-
Select the Enable cascade mode for Instant Clone support check box.
-
