Network Router in the Cloud for Laptop Solutions: Configuring the Laptop Clients

To complete the network router configuration, you must perform additional configurations on the laptop clients so that the clients can communicate with the CommServe computer through the Commvault network gateway.

Before You Begin

• Configure the Commvault network gateway. See Setting Up the Commvault Network Gateway.

• The laptop clients must have the Commvault laptop package installed. If not yet installed, proceed to install the package on the required laptop computers.

Procedure

1. Add the laptop clients to the laptop client group that you specified in the network topology as follows:

   1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computer Groups, right-click the laptop_client_group, and then click Properties.

      The Properties dialog box appears.

   2. Select the laptop clients from the All clients list, click Include >, and then click OK.

2. Push the network configuration on the laptop clients, Commvault network gateway, required MediaAgents, and on the CommServe computer. For example, to push the network configuration on a laptop client, perform the following steps:

   1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers, right-click the laptop_client, and then click All Tasks > Push Network Configuration.

      The Warning dialog box appears.

   2. Click Continue.

      A notification appears indicating that the push network configuration operation was successful.

   3. Click OK.

Result

You have configured the Commvault network gateway as a network router in the cloud.
