Configuring the HPE EVA Array

For IntelliSnap backups from Commvault software, add the HPE EVA storage array and its configuration information to the CommServe database.

Before You Begin

Ensure that the client and proxy computers are configured and have access to the array.

Start the Configuration Wizard

  1. From the navigation pane, click Manage > Infrastructure.

    The Infrastructure page appears.

  2. Click Arrays.

  3. On the Arrays page, click Add.

    The General page of the Add Snap Array configuration wizard appears.

General

  1. From the Snap vendor list, select HPE EVA.

  2. In the Array name box, enter the World Wide Name (WWN) of the array node, which is the serial number for the HPE EVA storage device. Type the array name without dashes (for example, 50014380025DEB70).

  3. In the Control host box, enter the name of the management server of the array.

    Note

    Enter the server name only, not the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) or the TCP/IP address.

  4. In the Description box, enter the description for the array.

  5. For credentials, do one of the following:

    Enter the credentials of a user who is member of HP Storage Admin group.

    • To use the saved credentials, move the Use saved credentials toggle key to the right, and then select credentials from the Saved credentials list.

    • To add new credentials, enter the credentials in User name and Password boxes.

  6. Click Next.

    The Array Access Nodes page of the configuration wizard appears.

Array Access Nodes

Add an array access node if you want to use the secondary live snapshot for the backup copy operation or to add a MediaAgent to perform additional operations on the storage array.

  1. From the Available MediaAgents list, select one or more access nodes and then click OK.

    • To select all the available MediaAgents as access nodes, click SELECT ALL.
  2. To disable pruning, move the Pruning toggle button of the respective access node to the left.

  3. To rearrange the selected access nodes, drag them upwards or downwards as required.

  4. Click NEXT.

    The Snap Configurations page of the configuration wizard appears.

Snap Configurations

  1. Configure Snapshot Configuration Properties according to your needs.

  2. Click SUBMIT.
