Configuring the NetApp Array

For IntelliSnap backups from Commvault software, add the NetApp storage array and its configuration information to the CommServe database.

Before You Begin

If you want to use only primary snapshots, then add a primary NetApp array.

If you want to use SnapVault or SnapMirror (that is, the secondary snapshots), then complete the following steps:

From the navigation pane, click Manage > Infrastructure.

The Infrastructure page appears.
Click Arrays.
On the Arrays page, click Add.

The General page of the Add Snap Array configuration wizard appears.

From the Snap vendor list, select NetApp.
In the Array name box, enter the host name, the fully qualified domain name (FQDN), or the TCP/IP address of the primary file server.
Note
- The name of primary file server or secondary file server can be different in the CommServe, MediaAgent, and other entities, but the name in all those locations must resolve to the same IP address.
- If you want to create a SnapVault copy or a SnapMirror copy, then verify that the IP address of the primary file server resolves to the primary IP address of the network interface and not to an alias.
In the Description box, enter the description for the array.
For credentials, do one of the following:
- To use the saved credentials, move the Use saved credentials toggle key to the right, and then select credentials from the Saved credentials list.
- To add new credentials, enter the credentials in User name and Password boxes.
Click Next.

The Array Access Nodes page of the configuration wizard appears.

From the Available MediaAgents list, select one or more access nodes and then click OK.
- To select all the available MediaAgents as access nodes, click SELECT ALL.
To disable pruning, move the Pruning toggle button of the respective access node to the left.
To rearrange the selected access nodes, drag them upwards or downwards as required.
Click NEXT.

The Snap Configurations page of the configuration wizard appears.
