With the fan-out configuration, you can create multiple vault/replica copies, using the same server plan with a primary snapshot copy as the source copy. You must configure Pure Storage FlashArray array mappings on all the vault/replica snapshot copies for all the subclients associated to the plan.
Pre-requisites:
-
If you are using a storage policy before upgrading to 2024E (11.36), you must convert the storage policy to the server plan.
-
All clients, Remote MediaAgents, and Access Nodes must be on 2024E (11.36).
-
If you are already using a plan, after adding a new non-default vault/replica copy, make sure to run at least one snap backup for all subclients associated to the plan before running an auxiliary copy.
-
Across all the vault/replica copies in the plan, the mappings between the source and target arrays must be unique for every subclient.
Terminology
The Pure Storage FlashArray Replication With Fan-Out Support documentation uses the following terminology:
Default vault/replica copy |
The first copy of type vault/replica that you create is the default vault/replica copy. |
Non-default vault/replica copy |
Subsequent vault/replica copies that you create after the default copies are referred to as non-default vault/replica copies. |
Default Mapping |
The mapping between the source array (x) and the target array (y) for all the subclients is the default mapping. |
Non-default mapping |
The mapping between the source array (x) and a different target array (z) for a specific subclient is the non-default mapping. |
