Connecting your GCP project to Clumio involves deploying Clumio resources in your GCP project so that Clumio can connect to the selected project and regions to perform SecureVault backups, continuous backups, and restores for Google Cloud Storage (GCS).
Connect your GCP project using Clumio's Terraform template, either by running it locally or through Google Cloud Infrastructure Manager. In both cases, Clumio deploys a least-privilege set of resources into your project, in line with Google Cloud Identity and Access Management (IAM) security guidelines. Connecting a project is a one-time step. You can connect a project to multiple supported regions; the regions you specify are the regions whose data is ingested into Clumio for backup and restore. Prerequisites
Before you connect your GCP environment, see "Issue: Insufficient GCP permissions" in Connecting a GCP project using Terraform to ensure the connection process runs smoothly.
Connect your project
Connect to a GCP project by specifying the following:
- The GCP project ID and the region or regions you want to connect.
- A Clumio API token to authenticate the Terraform provider.
Deploy Clumio using the Terraform template, as described in Connecting a GCP project using Terraform.
Protect your assets
If this is your first time connecting to a data source of any kind, configure security settings for your Clumio account and invite users to Clumio.
Create and configure backup policies for the GCS assets you want to protect, and apply the policies to your protection groups.
