Determining the CommServe Server Deployment for HyperScale X Appliance

The next step is to determine the CommServe server needed to setup the HyperScale cluster in your environment.

HyperScale X Appliance cluster can be deployment with an in-built CommServe server, or attached to an existing external CommServe server.

Answering the following questions will help to determine your CommServe server deployment:

  • Is this a brand-new Commvault setup?

  • Do you want to setup a Disaster Recovery (DR) solution for the brand-new setup?

  • Do you have an existing Commvault setup?

  • Do you want to setup a DR solution for your existing setup?

Important

If you plan to setup a HyperScale cluster with more than 6 nodes, then it is recommended to attach the HyperScale cluster to an external CommServe server, instead of deploying a built-in CommServe server, as follows:

Use the following selection guide to determine the topology requirements for your environment.
