Creating Alerts for Multiple CommCell Computers

Once a custom alert rule is created, you can use it to create an alert for multiple CommCell computers registered with the current CommCell computer.

Before You Begin

Register remote CommCell computers so they are displayed in the Entities Selection page of the add alert wizard. See Registering a Remote CommCell.
Create an alert rule. See Creating an Alert Rule.

From the CommCell Console ribbon, click the Home tab, and then click Alert.
In the Alerts dialog box, click Add.
On the General Information page in the Display Name box, enter a name for the alert.
Select Custom Rules from the Category list, and then select the custom alert rule from the Type list.
Click Next.
On the Entities Selection page, select the CommCell computers to associate with the alert.

Note

The CommCells will only be available if the Allow commcell association at alert level option is selected on the Monitor CommCells page at the time of custom alert rule creation.
On the Threshold and Notification Criteria Selection page, enter the alert criteria and select the notification criteria.

Alert criteria are available if user inputs were added to the custom alert rule when it was created. For information on adding user inputs to custom alert rules, see Managing Inputs.
Click Next.
On the Notification Type(s) Selection page, select the method to use to send the alert to the intended recipients.
Click Next.
Select the CommCell users and user groups who should receive the alert notification.

Note

The recipients for the custom alert must be associated with the master CommCell where the alert is being created.
Click Next.
On the Summary page, review the selected options, and then click Finish.
