You can restore the Active Directory database that is protected by an application-aware backup. After restoring the database, you can use offline mining to recover specific objects.
Note
Offline mining is only supported from the CommCell Console.
Restoring the Active Directory Database
To restore the Active Directory database, follow the steps in Performing File System Restores. Perform an out-of-place restore operation and include the following options:

Locate the server with the same name as the VM that runs the Active Directory domain controller.

In the Agents area, click File System.

Under Backup sets, in the row for VSA_APP_AWARE_AD_BackupSet, select the default subclient, and then click Restore.

On the Backup content page, select the NTDS component as the item to recover.
