Add the Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 Object Storage Repository

Add an Azure Data Lake object storage repository with an access key and a secret key.

Start the Configuration Wizard

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Object storage.

    The Object storage page appears.

  2. In the upper-right area of the page, click Add object storage.

    The Add object storage dialog box appears.

  3. Click Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2.

    The Plan page of the configuration wizard appears.

Plan

  1. On the Plan tab of the wizard, select the backup plan that you want to use for the object storage repository, and then click Next.

    The Access Node page of the configuration wizard appears.

Access Node

  1. On the Access Node tab of the wizard, select one or more access nodes or the server group where the Cloud Apps package is installed, and then click Next.

    The Cloud Account page of the configuration wizard appears.

    Note

    • The access nodes must be of similar operating system type.

    • All servers in the server group must be reachable through network routes.

Cloud Account

  1. For Cloud account, select an existing cloud account or create a new cloud account.

    Steps to create a new cloud account
    1. Click the add button add/plus button - gray - no border.

    The Add cloud account dialog box appears.

    1. In Name, enter a descriptive name for the account.

    2. In Subscription ID, enter the subscription ID for Azure subscription.

    3. For Credential, select existing credentials or create new credentials:

    4. To select an existing credential, select a saved credential.

    5. To create a new credential, click the add button add/plus button - gray - no border, and then specify the following:

      • In Credential name, enter a descriptive name for the credentials.

      • In Tenant ID, enter the tenant ID for Azure subscription.

      • In Application ID, enter the application ID for Azure subscription.

      • In Application secret, enter the application secret for Azure subscription.

      • From the Environment list, select the environment for Azure subscription.

      • To display the authentication endpoint, move the Show endpoints toggle key to the right.

      • In Description, enter the description for Azure subscription.

    6. Click Save.

  2. Click Save.

  3. Click Next.

    The Backup Content page of the configuration wizard appears.

Backup Content

You can add content by selecting all the content, or by selecting specific content.

  1. To select all content, select the check box for Storage Account, and then click Next.

Select Resources to Back Up by Rule Group

  1. To add specific content, do the following:

    1. Click Add, and then select Rule group.

      The Add rule group page appears.

    2. For Match rule, select all or any.

    3. From the Rule type list, select Resource group, Storage account, Tag name, or Tag value.

    4. From the Equals list, select an operator from the list, such as Equals or Starts with.

    5. In Click browse or enter a value, browse or enter a custom path:

    6. To browse for content, click Browse, select the content, and then click Save.

    7. To enter a custom path, in Click browse or enter a value, enter the custom path for the content.

      For example, you can enter /bucket_name.

  2. To add a new rule, click Add Rule.

  3. Click Save.

Select Resources to Back Up by Storage Accounts

  1. To add specific content, do the following:

    1. Click Add, and then select Storage accounts.

      The Add Azure Blob storage accounts page appears.

    2. Select the check box for the storage account.

    3. Click Save.

  2. Click Next.

    The Summary page of the configuration wizard appears.

Summary

  1. On the Summary tab of the wizard, review the options, and then click Finish.
