Creating a Subclient for Archiving

You can create an archiving subclient for data that has the same archiving requirements.

When you create an archive set, a default subclient is automatically created. The default subclient contains the data, archive plan, filters, and exceptions that are specified in the archive set.

Start the Configuration Wizard

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Archiving.

The Archive file servers page appears.

  2. Click the file server.

    The Overview page appears.

  3. Go to the Subclients tab and click Add subclient.

    The Add subclient wizard appears.

  4. In the Subclient name box, enter a name for the subclient.

  5. From the Archive sets list, select an existing archive set.

  6. Click Next.

The Plan page of the configuration wizard appears.

Plan

  1. Add a new archive plan and then, provide information about storage, retention, and archive schedules.

For more information, see Create An Archive Plan.

If you have created an archive plan already, select the plan from the list.

    Note

When you associate an archive plan with a subclient, the archiving rules that are specified in the archive plan are applied to the subclient. You cannot associate an archive plan with older subclients that were created using the object-based retention criteria.

  2. Click Next.

The Access Nodes page of the configuration wizard appears.

Access Node

  1. From the Access nodes list, select the access nodes to use for the subclient.

  2. Click Next.

The Content page of the configuration wizard appears.
