Configuring Access to the Web Server

Since the Web Console is in the perimeter network, you must configure port-forwarding gateways to open connections to the Web Server through the Web Console computer. For more information, see Port-Forwarding Gateways.

Before You Begin

Procedure

  1. In the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers.

  2. Right-click the Web Server computer, and then click Properties.

The Client Computer Properties dialog box appears.

  3. Click Network.

The Network Properties for Client dialog box appears.

  4. On the Firewall Configuration tab, select the Configure Firewall Settings check box.

  5. Click the Options subtab.

  6. In the Network Proxy Settings area, select the Access Web Server via following proxy check box.

When this option is selected, it enables the IIS port (dynamic) on the computer that hosts the Web Server for third-party connections.

  7. From the Remote Proxy list, select the computer where the Web Console is installed.

  8. In the Port Number box, type 8403.

This is a local port on the Web Console computer that is mapped to access the Web Server.

  9. Click OK.

  10. In the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers.

  11. Right-click the Web Console computer, and then click All Tasks > Push Network Configuration.

A message appears that warns you that all clients and client groups that communicate with the Web Console computer must be configured.

  12. Click Continue.

  13. Restart the Commvault Tomcat services on the Web Console computer.
