You can configure multiple CommServe hostnames for CommServe disaster recovery, where the clients in the CommCell must have a different CommServe hostname/IP address to reach the production and standby CommServe hosts.
When the CommServe LiveSync operation is enabled, by default, multiple CommServe hostnames is automatically enabled for all the clients in the CommCell, as follows:

The Clients For Commserv LiveSync Client Group is created, and all clients with Version11 SP14 (and above) are included in this Client Group. If the Clients For Commserv LiveSync Client Group is not created automatically, follow the steps described in Missing Clients For Commserv LiveSync Client Group.

The sCSINTERFACELIST additional setting is setup, for this client group, with the names of the active and passive CommServe hosts, so that the clients can automatically connect to an available CommServe host.
Procedure

Create a Client Group containing clients with Service Pack 14, or above.
For more information about creating a Client Group, see Creating a Client Computer Group.
Note
Do not include the CommServe (Instance001) client from both the production and standby CommServe hosts in this client group.

To the client group, add the sCSINTERFACELIST additional setting as shown in the following table.
Note
All the clients within the client group must be in Service Pack 14 (or higher).

For Existing Setups With a Floating CommServe Hostname
If you have an existing setup using a floating CommServe hostname, it is recommended that you configure multiple CommServe hostnames, using the above-mentioned steps, so that the clients have the necessary CommServe hostname/IP address to reach the CommServe.
In addition, to avoid a DNS update after failover, use a different floating name for the standby CommServe host. Also make sure to add all the virtual names to sCSINTERFACELIST, if it does not already exist.
