Enable the DNS Server Tools in both the production and standby CommServe hosts.
DNS Server tools allows host computers to execute DNS commands remotely.

DNS Server Tools is a functionality overseen by Microsoft offering and should not be confused as part of the Commvault software binary.

As part of setting up DNS entries, the Active Directory users should possess sufficient permissions to enable DNS Server Tools.
Before You Begin
Log in to the host computer as a member of the Administrators group.
Procedure
Windows Server 2012

From the Server Manager window, click Manage > Add Roles and Features.

Click Installation Type and choose Role-based or feature-based installation. Click Next.

Click Select a server from the server pool and highlight and select the DNS server from the Server Pool list. Click Next.

From the Roles list, click DNS Server.
The Add Roles and Features Wizard dialog box is automatically displayed. Make sure that [Tools] DNS Server Tools is included. (If this information is not displayed, select the Include management tools check box.)
Click Add Features.
Click Next.

From the Features list, click Remote Server Administration Tools. Click Next.

Click Install from the Confirmation page,
Windows Server 2008

Open Windows Control Panel and click Programs.

Click Turn Windows features on or off.

From the Server Manager window, click Features > Add Features.

Expand Remote Server Administration Tools > Role Administration Tools.

Select DNS Server Tools and click Next.

Click Install.
