The following section provides context-sensitive help information related to this feature.
Advanced Client Properties (Job Configuration)
Use this dialog box to view or modify job management information on the client computer.
Job Priority (0-9)
Establishes the priority of the jobs submitted by this client computer. Valid values range from 0 through 9, where 0 has the highest priority. For other job priority settings, use the General tab of the Job Management dialog box.
Queue Jobs if other conflicting jobs are active
The option to start jobs in a Queued state if they conflict with other running jobs. After the conflicting jobs are completed, the queued jobs resume automatically. Jobs conflict with other jobs if the operation is performed on the same CommCell object, such as a subclient, CommServe database, or storage policy. This option also can be set at a global level. For information on setting this option in the Control Panel, see Queuing Jobs. Note: On Demand Data Protection jobs are always queued because the directive and content files can change with every run.
Enable Job Throttle
Note: For the Exchange Database Agent, job throttling is available for standalone environments only. It is not available for DAG (Database Availability Group) environments.
Enables client-level job throttling. This check box is available after job throttling is enabled at the CommServe level. See Enabling Job Throttling.
-
Exclude Immediate Jobs
Exclude immediate jobs from being throttled. All application command line jobs and CommCell Console jobs run with the immediate option are counted as immediate jobs. Use this option to run a backup without waiting for the queue to clear even when the job limits have been reached on the client. When this option is set, scheduled jobs are the only jobs throttled.
-
Data Threshold
Limits the number of data backup jobs that run simultaneously. When the maximum number of simultaneously running jobs is reached, new backup jobs submitted for the client are queued and run when current-running jobs are complete. The default value is 1.
Note: An IntelliSnap backup and command line backup are counted as a data jobs. The IntelliSnap backup copy to tape job is not counted.
-
Log Threshold (Does not apply to the Exchange Database Agent and the SAP HANA Agent)
Limits the number of log backup jobs that run simultaneously. When the maximum number of simultaneously running jobs is reached, new backup jobs submitted for the client are queued and run when current-running jobs are complete. The default value is 1.
Job Results Directory for Windows Clients
-
User Name/Password
Click to establish or change the Impersonate User account to access the Job Results Directory.
-
Job Results Directory
The directory where the job results of client computer backup and restore operations are written. You can change this location by entering a new path. If you change this path, all existing job results are copied to the new path as well. UNC paths are supported for Windows and Exchange 2007 databases that use Cluster Continuous Replication (CCR).
Note: You cannot change the path on laptop clients.
-
Browse
Click to select a new job results directory for the client computer. Do not specify or relocate the job results directory to a directory residing on a compressed drive.
-
Prune job results after
The number of days the job results for data protection and data recovery operations are maintained on the client computer.
-
Low space threshold job results folder (MB)
Specifies the low space threshold limit (in MB) for the job results folder. If the amount of free space in the job results folder falls below the specified amount, an event message is generated. The Clients (Disk Space Low) alert is also generated, if configured.
Maximum number of parallel data transfer operations
The number of streams that the software allocates for backup operations for the client. This option honors stream throttling at the client level.
When you set the Maximum number of parallel data transfer operations option, the Resource Manager verifies that the total number of streams associated with a client at any point of time does not exceed the configurable value, irrespective of the setting defined at the subclient level. If all streams are in use, then the newer jobs for other subclients that belong to the same client remain in the waiting state until all streams are available.
