The NetApp Open Replication with SnapMirror Cloud (SM-C) replicates snapshots from a source storage virtual machine (SVM) to NetApp-supported object storage destinations. You can create only one NetApp SnapMirror Cloud Target copy (vault or replica copy) for each storage policy using primary snapshot (Snap Primary copy) as the source. The auxiliary copy manages initial data transfers and replicates snapshots to an object storage destination.
Important
-
NetApp Open Replication with SnapMirror Cloud is supported only for the NetApp C-Mode arrays as the source with version 9.10.1 or later.
-
Ensure that tunneling is enabled on the source SVM. For more information on how to enable tunneling see Tunneling the vServer through a Cluster Client.
To configure NetApp Open Replication with SnapMirror Cloud, see Configuration of the NetApp Open Replication Feature.
Supported Agents
NetApp Open Replication with SnapMirror Cloud is supported only for NetApp arrays configured with NDMP agent. For more information, see Getting Started with the NDMP Agent.
Supported Object Storage Destinations
The following object storage destinations are supported:
Note
NetApp Open Replication with SnapMirror Cloud supports only HTTPS for its object storage destinations and NetApp Clusters should be able to communicate with object storage destinations directly. For StorageGRID port requirements, see Snap Configuration.
