Configuring the Storage Virtual Machine for Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP

For IntelliSnap backups from Commvault software, add the storage virtual machine (SVM) array and its configuration information to the CommServe server.

Before You Begin

If you want to use only primary snapshots, then add a primary NetApp array.

If you want to use SnapVault or SnapMirror (secondary snapshots), then complete the following steps:

  1. Add the primary NetApp array.

  2. Add a secondary NetApp array.

Start the Configuration Wizard

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Infrastructure.

    The Infrastructure page appears.

  2. Click Arrays.

  3. On the Arrays page, click Add.

    The General page of the Add Snap Array configuration wizard appears.

General

  1. From the Snap vendor list, select NetApp.

  2. In the Array name box, enter the host name, the fully qualified domain name (FQDN), or the TCP/IP address of the primary array.

  3. In the Description box, enter the description for the array.

  4. For the credentials, do one of the following:

    Enter the credentials of a user who has the following create privileges and delete privileges for the array.

    • Snapshots

    • Volume and LUN clones

    • Common Internet File System (CIFS) shares and Network File System (NFS) exports

    • Initiator groups

    • In the User name and Password boxes, enter the credentials.

    • If you want to use saved credentials, move the Use saved credentials toggle key to the right. From the Saved credentials list, select the credentilas.

  5. Click Next.

    The Array Access Nodes page of the configuration wizard appears.

Array Access Nodes

  1. From the Available MediaAgents list, select one or more access nodes and then click OK.

    • To select all the available access nodes, click SELECT ALL.
  2. To disable pruning, move the Pruning toggle button of the respective access node to the left.

  3. To rearrange the selected access nodes, drag them upwards or downwards as required.

  4. Click NEXT.

    The Snap Configurations page of the configuration wizard appears.

Snap Configurations

  1. On the Snap Configuration page, configure Snapshot Configuration Properties according to your needs.

  2. Click Submit.
