Enabling Snapshots and Selecting a Snapshot Engine for File Servers

To back up a subclient with snapshots, you must enable snapshots and select a snapshot engine.

Procedure

1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Files.

   The Overview page appears.

2. Go to the Files tab, and then click the file server.

   The file server page appears.

3. To enable snapshots backups for a CIFS subclient, go to the Protocols tile, and then click CIFS.

   The CIFS Overview page appears.

   To enable snapshots backups for an NFS subclient, go to the Protocols tile, and then click NFS.

   The NFS Overview page appears.

4. On the Subclients tab, click a subclient.

   The subclient Overview page appears.

5. Go to the Configuration tab.

6. On the Snapshot management tile, move the Enable snap backup toggle key to the right.

   The Snapshot management dialog box appears.

7. From the Engines list, select a snapshot engine, and then click Save.
