Immutable Snapshot (Virtual Lock)

Immutable snapshot (Virtual lock) protects volumes and snapshots from deletion for a set duration. Once applied, the data cannot be deleted accidentally or deliberately, even by a root user. This feature helps defend against any unauthorized change. Commvault offers the Immutable snapshot feature for the HPE 3PAR StoreServ / Primera / HPE Alletra 9000 Series / HPE GreenLake for Block storage array for primary volumes and replicated volumes. You can enable the Immutable snapshots option on the snapshot primary copy, vault/replica copy or both for the HPE 3PAR StoreServ / Primera / HPE Alletra 9000 Series / HPE GreenLake for Block storage array.
