System Requirements for the HPE 3PAR StoreServ / Primera / HPE Alletra 9000 Series / HPE GreenLake for Block Storage Array

Before you configure your storage array, verify that your system meets the following requirements.

Licenses

Install the following licenses.

Version and Firmware

Ensure that you are using compatible versions and firmware.

Not supported with 3.1.3 (MU1), 3.1.1(MU3), 3.1.1 (MU2), 3.1.1 (MU1) + Patch 10, and 3.1.1.342 In version 3.3.1 GA and later versions, because of a 3par limitation, aged snapshots with child snapshots might not be deleted on the array.

For more information, see snapshot configuration properties. Versions 4.5.4 and 4.5.3 are not supported.
HPE Alletra 9000 Series	9.6.1 9.5.21 9.5.18 9.5.15 9.5.7 9.3.3 Note If you have upgraded to HPE Alletra 9000 Series 9.6.1 version, ensure to set the SMIS Server Port to 5989 and enable Use secure connection to SMIS Server** snapshot configurations. For more information, see snapshot configuration properties. Versions 4.5.4 and 4.5.3 are not supported.
HPE GreenLake for Block	10.4.0** 10.3.0 10.2.0* Supports only Linux and VMWare systems with iSCSI protocol. *Replication for this array version is not supported by Commvault due to the behavioral changes done by HPE in virtual volume sets and RCG.

**Replication for this version of array is pending validation by Commvault.

Protocols

Ensure that at least one of the following protocols is available.

For the iSCSI protocol, on the client and proxy computers, configure the iSCSI initiator to access the storage array.

Ports

For snap-based operations, open port 5989 for HTTPS and port 5988 for HTTP between the CommServe computer and the storage array and between the MediaAgent and the storage array.
