Creating the Map File for File System Agent Restores

Use a map file to specify the restore destination for files, and folders.

Procedure

1. On the destination computer, use a text editor to create the map file.

   For information on the map file format, see Map File Format for File System Restores.

2. If your map file contains file or path names with Unicode characters, convert the file. On the command line, type the following command, substituting source_file with the map file name and destination_file as the converted file name.

   Note: Use the destination file name when you perform the restore.
