Step 1: Before You Begin
-
Open the Azure portal and create an NFS volume for Azure Files. For more information, see Create an NFS Share.
-
This page assumes you have already installed CommServe software. If not, see Installations.
-
Refer to the System Requirements page for Linux File System Agent.
Step 2: Install the Linux File System Agent
Install the Linux File System Agent on the Linux computer where the NFS share can be mounted and accessed.
Step 3: Optional: Mount the NFS Share
Skip this step if you use multiple node backup and the automount feature. Mount the NFS share on the linux computer.
Step 4: Prepare for Your First Backup and Restore
-
Open the CommCell Console.
-
Configure a Storage Device.
You must install the MediaAgent to configure a storage device.
-
To configure a disk library, see Disk Libraries - Getting Started.
-
To configure a tape library, see Tape Libraries - Getting Started.
-
-
Create a network share client and then create a subclient under the Linux File System Agent of the network share client. Use the following steps to create a network share client:
Alternately, you can also create a subclient for the local client computer and make sure that the subclient content is a mounted path. Enter the same path where you mounted the NFS share on the linux computer. For subclient configuration, see Linux File System Agent - Configuration.
-
On the CommCell Browser, right-click Client Computers, and then click New Client.
The Add New Client dialog box appears.
-
Under File System, click NAS/Network Share.
-
Select the Network Share check box, and then select the Unix check box.
-
Clear the NDMP check box.
-
In the Client Name box, enter the non-NDMP network share client name.
-
In the Host Name box, enter the fully qualified non-NDMP network share client name/IP.
-
Click OK.
A pseudo network share client is created on the CommCell Console.
Create a subclient using the Linux File System Agent created under the network share client and make sure that the subclient content is a mounted path. Enter the same path where you mounted the NFS share on the linux computer.
The subclient content must not be in the following format:
file server:/share
Note
If you specify the subclient content in the f**ile server:/share format, then you must select multiple access nodes for the subclient. For subclient configuration, see Linux File System Agent - Configuration.
