Creating a MEDITECH Subclient

You must configure a subclient to perform backups and restores of the MEDITECH data.

When you configure a subclient, specify the content by providing the connection details to the MEDITECH MBI listener.

Best Practice: Use one user-defined subclient for all MEDITECH-dependent systems.

Before You Begin

Create a backup set for the MEDITECH data.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, expand ClientComputers > Client > File System.

  2. Right-click the backup_set, point to All Tasks, and then click New Subclient.

The Subclient Properties dialog box appears.

  3. On the General tab, in the Subclient name box, enter a name for the subclient.

  4. On the Content tab, click Meditech.

The Meditech Configuration dialog box appears.

    1. Click Add.

The Add a new Meditech system dialog box is displayed.

    2. In the System Name box, type a unique name to identify the MEDITECH module that you want to back up, for example 'EMR'.

    3. In the IP box, type the transaction listener IP Address for the MEDITECH module host.

    4. In the Port box, type the port that you use to access the MEDITECH MBI listener.

    5. In the User Name and Password boxes, type the MEDITECH MBF credentials.

      The default port is 2987.

    6. In the Timeout box, type the timeout value.

    7. Click OK to close the Add a new Meditech system dialog box.

  5. On the Storage Device tab, from the Storage Policy list, select the storage policy that you want to use for the MEDITECH data.

  6. On the IntelliSnap Operations tab, configure the IntelliSnap options.

    1. Select the IntelliSnap check box.

A message appears that tells you that the next backup will be a full backup.

    2. Click OK.

    3. From the Available Snap Engines list, select the appropriate engine.

  7. Click OK.

A subclient with the content that you want to back up is available under the backup set that you selected.
