End-of-Life, Deprecated HyperScale Products

The following HyperScale products have reached the End-of-Life (EOL) cycle. For more information about the EOL policy, see End-of-Life, Deprecated, and Extended Support - Obsolescence Policy.

HyperScale 1.5 Appliance End-of-Sales (EOS) December 31st, 2020 Last day for existing customers to submit PO for the appliance.
HyperScale 1.5 Appliance End-of-Renewal (EOR) December 31st, 2023 Last day to renew subscription for the appliance.
HyperScale 1.5 Appliance End-of-Life (EOL) December 31st, 2025 End of life for HyperScale 1.5 Appliance which includes end-of-support for software maintenance and patch releases.
HyperScale 1.5 Reference Architecture End-of-Sales (EOS) June 15th, 2021 Last day for existing customers to submit PO for HyperScale 1.5 Reference Architecture.
HyperScale 1.5 Reference Architecture End-of-Life (EOL) December 31st, 2026 End of life for HyperScale 1.5 Reference Architecture which includes end-of-support for software maintenance and patch releases.
HyperScale X 2.x Platform (RHEL 7.9 OS) End-of-Life (EOL) June 30th, 2025 End of Life for HyperScale 2.x based platforms. Customer will need to upgrade to HyperScale 3.x prior to this date.

What Does This Mean?

What happens after the End-of-Sale date?

  • For any net new HyperScale purchases, you must purchase the HyperScale X with upgraded hardware and features.

    For more information, see HyperScale X. You must also create a new Storage Pool

  • For an existing HyperScale 1.5 cluster, you can migrate the storage pool to a HyperScale X storage pool.

    For more information, see Migrating Data From HyperScale 1.5 To HyperScale X.

  • You cannot directly upgrade HyperScale 1.5 to HyperScale X.

What happens after the End-of-Life date?

HyperScale 1.5 and 2.x platforms are no longer supported and you must migrate any existing HyperScale 1.5 and HyperScale X 2.x installations to HyperScale X platform version 3.x.

What happens with Red Hat 7.9 Support?

Commvault has worked with Red Hat to provide Extended Lifecycle Support (ELS) for all Commvault customers using HyperScale platforms running RHEL 7.9 until the End-of-Life date listed for each platform posted above.
