Feature Support

  • The HPE Catalyst Storage library supports all the operations available in a Disk Library.

Note

  • One mount path per library is supported.

  • Move mount path is not supported.

  • As the options for deduplication, data compression and data encryption are provided in the device, these options are not available in the Storage Policy Copy associated with a HPE Catalyst Storage library.

  • Data Immutability is supported for HPE StoreOnce Catalyst libraries.

  • High bandwidth mode is not supported for HPE StoreOnce Catalyst libraries.

  • The following information on copies must be noted:

  • Source side deduplication is supported.

  • Auxiliary copy uses the Catalyst Copy feature to copy data between StoreOnce appliances.

  • Auxiliary copy to another StoreOnce, tape and/or disk media is supported.

  • Synthetic full backups across StoreOnce appliances is not supported as synthetic full backups uses the Catalyst Clone feature to copy data without reading data back to the MediaAgent.

  • Auxiliary copy from StoreOnce primary copy to a secondary copy with disk or cloud storage results in data size larger than primary copy. Since compression is disabled on primary copy, backups to secondary copy are also written in umcompressed format.

  • Data multiplexing is not supported and should not be enabled.

  • Inline Copies and Parallel copies are not supported.
