Commvault Control Plane Installations on Windows Are Deprecated
You can no longer install the Commvault control plane on Windows, including the following components:

Web Server

Command Center

Commvault strongly encourages you to transition to a Linux environment for Control plane components, specifically CommServe, Web Server, and Command Center. The Linux platform offers significantly better performance, enhanced stability, and superior resource efficiency when running Commvault. Furthermore, Linux offers an inherently more secure platform with a reduced attack surface, providing you with greater peace of mind.
LTS Release 11.40 is Available
Long-Term Support (LTS) Release 11.40 is now available.
This release includes critical updates, enhanced stability, and key performance improvements to ensure a reliable and secure experience for all users.

End of Support for AIX 6.1 and Solaris 10.x
As of June 13, 2025, AIX 6.1 and Solaris 10.x will be supported up to and including Commvault Platform Release 2024E (11.36).
End of Support for Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2
Microsoft ended mainstream support for all versions of Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2—including Hyper-V Server 2012 and Hyper-V Server 2012 R2, and Core Editions—on October 10, 2023.
End of Support for Express Configuration of Microsoft365 Applications and Azure Active Directory
With Microsoft’s adoption of mandatory multifactor authentication beginning on October 15, 2024, express configuration options for Azure Active Directory and Microsoft 365 applications in the Commvault software do not function. Please use the custom configuration options to add Azure Active Directory and Office 365 apps.
Web-Based CommCell Console Will Stop Working When Oracle Removes the Support for Java Web Start
As described in the Oracle Java SE Support Roadmap web page, Oracle will continue to provide public updates and auto updates of Java "until at least the end of January 2019 for Commercial Users". After that time, Java Web Start and the Java Plug-in will be removed and Commvault users will no longer be able to access the CommCell Console as a Java Web Start application.
Commvault users will be able to access the CommCell Console using the Java Web Start application up until the end of January 2019, and the Java deprecation warning will appear during that time. After January 2019, Commvault users will not be able to access the CommCell Console using the Java Web Start application.
