You can create a provisioning target for the following scenarios:

To identify resources that can be used for live mounts and to specify parameters for live mount operations, including live mounts that are performed for backup validation.

To enable testing failover operations for VMs using live mounts.

To support Virtualize Me operations.

To identify a destination for full VM restores.
Before You Begin

Configure a hypervisor for the destination. For information, see the documentation for the virtualized platform that you are creating a hypervisor for. For example, for VMware, see Configuring Backups for VMware VMs.

For Virtualize Me targets, download the required Windows or UNIX ISO files and copy them to a location on the destination host. For instructions to download the ISO files, see Downloading the ISO file for 1-Touch.

Review the list of options for the destination hypervisor:
Procedure

From the navigation pane, go to Manage > VM Management.
The VM Management page appears.

Click the Provisioning targets tile.
The Targets page appears.

In the upper-right area of the page, click Add.
The Select vendor page of the Add Target wizard appears.

Select the virtualized platform for the destination.

Click Next.
The General page of the target wizard appears.

Enter hypervisor-specific values in each page that is available for the type of hypervisor.

Click Submit.
