Getting Started with Azure NetApp Files

Getting started with protecting Azure NetApp Files CIFS shares includes installing the File System Agent, adding the Azure NetApp Files cloud file share, and then performing a test backup and restore.

Procedure

1. Verify that your environment meets the sytem requirements for CIFS shares and NFS exports of Azure NetApp Files.

2. Verify that your access node meets the software and hardware specifications to back up the CIFS shares and NFS exports.

3. To back up CIFS shares using Windows access nodes, verify that your environment meets the system requirements for Windows access nodes.

4. To back up CIFS shares using Linux access nodes, verify that your environment meets the system requirements for CIFS backups using Linux access nodes.

5. To back up NFS exports, verify that your environment meets the system requirements for Linux access nodes.

6. Install the File System package on the access node file server.

   To perform snapshot backups, install the MediaAgent package as well.

7. Add the Azure NetApp Files cloud file share.

8. Enable snapshot backups for the subclient for the subclient.

9. Back up Azure NetApp Files data.

10. Restore Azure NetApp Files data.
