Migration of VMs From One Hypervisor to Another

You can migrate VMs from one hypervisor to another.

Procedure

1. Create a replication target for the destination hypervisor.

2. If VMs that you want to migrate are already backed up, create a replication group using the Orchestrated type for selecting an existing vm group. If VMs are never backed up, create a replication group using the Periodic type.

3. Convert the replication group to a warm site recovery.

4. After the replication pair is in sync, perform a planned failover. This will power off the VMs in the source hypervisor.

5. After the failover is completed, verify that the VMs in the destination hypervisor are accessible, and then delete the replication group.
