Configuring the Job Retry Options for Specific Jobs

For agents that support this capability, you can specify the job retry options for specific jobs. The individual settings will override the global setting configured through the Control Panel. For information on the Enable Total Running Time and Kill running jobs when total running time expires check boxes, see Setting the Total Running Time for Jobs.

Steps to Configure Job Restart

Backup

  1. From the Backup Options dialog box, click Advanced.

  2. In the Advanced Backup Options dialog box, click Job Retry tab.

  3. Select Enable Total Running Time and specify the maximum elapsed time before a job can be restarted or killed.

  4. Select Kill Running Jobs When Total Running Time Expires to kill the job after reaching the maximum elapsed time.

  5. Select Enable Number Of Retries and specify the number of retries.

  6. Click OK.

Restore

  1. From the Restore Options dialog box, click Advanced.

  2. In the Advanced Restore Options dialog box, click Job Retry tab.

  3. Select Enable Total Running Time and specify the maximum elapsed time before a job can be restarted or killed.

  4. Select Kill Running Jobs When Total Running Time Expires to kill the job after reaching the maximum elapsed time.

  5. Select Enable Number Of Retries and specify the number of retries.

  6. Click OK.

Data Collection

  1. From the Schedule Data Collection Job Options dialog box, click Advanced.

  2. In the Advanced Options dialog box, click Job Retry tab.

  3. Select Enable Total Running Time and specify the maximum elapsed time before a job can be restarted or killed.

  4. Select Kill Running Jobs When Total Running Time Expires to kill the job after reaching the maximum elapsed time.

  5. Select Enable Number Of Retries and specify the number of retries.

  6. Click OK.

Auxiliary Copy

  1. From the AuxCopy Options dialog box, click Advanced.

  2. In the Advanced AuxCopy Options dialog box, click the Job Retry tab.

  3. Select Enable Total Running Time and specify the maximum elapsed time before a job can be restarted or killed.

  4. Select Kill Running Jobs When Total Running Time Expires to kill the job after reaching the maximum elapsed time.

  5. Select Enable Number Of Retries and specify the number of retries.

  6. Click OK.

Disaster Recovery Backup

  1. From the Disaster Recovery Options dialog box, click Advanced.

  2. In the Advanced Disaster Recovery Options dialog box, click Job Retry tab.

  3. Select Enable Total Running Time and specify the maximum elapsed time before a job can be restarted or killed.

  4. Select Kill Running Jobs When Total Running Time Expires to kill the job after reaching the maximum elapsed time.

  5. Select Enable Number Of Retries and specify the number of retries.

  6. Click OK.

Delete Stub

  1. From the Erase Data Selected for Deletion dialog box, click Advanced.

  2. In the Advanced Recover Options dialog box, click Job Retry tab.

  3. Select Enable Total Running Time and specify the maximum elapsed time before a job can be restarted or killed.

  4. Select Kill Running Jobs When Total Running Time Expires to kill the job after reaching the maximum elapsed time.

  5. Select Enable Number Of Retries and specify the number of retries.

  6. Click OK.

Offline Content Indexing

  1. From the Content Indexing Options dialog box, click Advanced.

  2. In the Advanced Content Indexing Options dialog box, click Job Retry tab.

  3. Select Enable Total Running Time and specify the maximum elapsed time before a job can be restarted or killed.

  4. Select Kill Running Jobs When Total Running Time Expires to kill the job after reaching the maximum elapsed time.

  5. Select Enable Number Of Retries and specify the number of retries.

  6. Click OK.
