Getting Started with MySQL

To get started with backing up and restoring MySQL databases in the Command Center, set up the Command Center, complete the database application setup wizard, configure MySQL and create alerts, perform a backup and a restore, and then create additional database groups.

Step 1: Set Up the Command Center

Set up the Command Center in your CommCell environment. For more information, see Setting Up the Command Center.

Step 2: Complete the Database Setup Wizard

Configure the Database application by completing the Database Setup Wizard.

Step 3: Configure MySQL and Create Alerts

  1. Create a server plan.

    The server plan defines how often the software backs up the database and the log files and where it stores the backups.

  2. Add a MySQL database server.

  3. Add a MySQL instance.

  4. Add a MySQL database group.

  5. Create alerts to receive automatic notification about operations, such as failed jobs.

Step 4: Perform the First Backup and Restore

  1. Perform a full backup.

  2. Restore databases.

Step 5: Create Additional Database Groups

Create additional database groups for content that you need to protect on a separate schedule.
