Hypervisor Access Points and Credentials

Different hypervisors support different methods for identifying an access point for operations, and provide different options for authentication.

Hypervisor Access and Authentication

Alibaba Cloud

Access key: Type the Access Key ID that is associated with your Alibaba Cloud account.

Secret key: Type the Secret Access Key that is associated with your Alibaba Cloud account.

Amazon

Select one of the following options:

  • IAM role: If you select this option, select a proxy instance that has an IAM role associated with it in the AWS Console.

    Note

    If you select IAM role for the Amazon client, but a proxy that is not associated with the IAM role is used for a backup or restore, the operation fails.

    The IAM role must have appropriate permissions, which can be any of the following:

  • Access and secret key: If you select this option, provide the following information:

    • Access key: Type the Access Key ID that is associated with your Amazon EC2 account.

    • Secret key: Type the Secret Access Key that is associated with your Amazon EC2 account.

Enable admin account: If you already configured a hypervisor for an Admin account, you can select this option and then select the Admin account from the Admin instance list.

This option applies only in environments where data protection resources are provided by a separate Admin account. If another Amazon hypervisor is not already configured, this field does not appear.

Azure Classic or Azure Resource Manager

Subscription ID: Enter the subscription ID for your Azure account.

Azure Classic

Thumbprint: Enter the thumbprint for the Azure management certificate.

Azure Resource Manager

For the traditional method of deployment:

Tenant ID: Enter the tenant ID associated with the Azure account.

Application ID: Enter the application ID associated with the tenant.

Application password: Enter the password for the application.

For Managed Identity Authentication method of deployment:

Connect using Managed Identity: Enable this option.

Google Cloud Platform

Client Name: Enter a descriptive name for the Google Cloud service account.

Service Account ID: Enter the service account ID.

Project ID: Enter the project ID.

P12 key filename: Enter the file name for the P12 private key.

Private Keys password: Enter the password for the private key.

Hyper-V

Hostname / IP address: Provide a fully qualified hostname or IP address for the hypervisor.

Username and Password: Enter the user credentials to provide administrative access to the hypervisor.

Nutanix AHV

Hostname / IP address: Provide a fully qualified hostname or IP address for the hypervisor.

Username and Password: Enter the user credentials to provide administrative access to the hypervisor.

OpenStack

Keystone Address: Enter the fully qualified host name or IP address for the keystone node.

Oracle Cloud Classic

End point: Enter the URL for the endpoint that is used to access Oracle Cloud Classic.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

Tenancy ocid: Enter the OCID for the tenant.

User ocid: Enter the OCID for the admin user for the hypervisor.

Finger print: Enter the fingerprint for the private key.

Private key filename: Enter the file name for the private key.

Private keys password: Enter the password for the private key.

This is the passphrase that was used to encrypt the private key.

Home region name: Select the home region for the tenant.

Oracle VM

Oracle VM Manager: Enter the fully qualified host name or IP address for the Oracle VM Manager.

Username: Enter the user name required to access Oracle VM Manager.

Password: Enter the password for the user account.

Red Hat Virtualization

RHEV Manager: Enter the host name of the RHEV Manager.

Username: Enter the user name required to access the RHEV Manager.

Password: Enter the password for the user account.

vCloud Director

Hostname / IP address: Type a fully qualified hostname or IP address for the hypervisor.

Username and Password: Enter the user credentials to provide administrative access to the hypervisor.

VMware

Hostname / IP address: Provide a fully qualified hostname or IP address for the hypervisor.

Username and Password: Enter the user credentials to provide administrative access to the hypervisor.
