Running Orchestration Jobs

You can perform a failover operations for groups or for specific machines.

Before You Begin

For VMware destination sites:

  • To perform failover, test boot, and failback operations for VMware destination sites, VMware tools must be installed on the source VMs before replicating the VMs.

  • For replicated VMs using source snapshots, failback operations are supported only when replication is configured in the Command Center.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, click Configuration > Replication.

    The Replication page appears.

  2. At the top of the page, click Failover groups.

    The Failover groups tab appears.

  3. In the row for a failover group, in the Actions column, click the action action_button button and then select an action to perform on the group:

    • Delete (all destination sites)

    • Planned failover (all destination sites)

    • Unplanned failover (all destination sites)

Depending on the status of each machine, some failover options might not be completed on all VMs.

  4. From the page for a failover group, you can choose failover or failback operations for specific machines.

The options that are available depend on the current status of the machine. For example, you can request a failback for a machine that has failed over.

  5. From the Replication monitor page, you can choose failover or failback operations for specific machines.

The options that are available depend on the current status of the machine. For example, you can request a failback for a machine that has failed over.

You can view the progress of orchestration jobs in the Jobs page.
