You must enable End-User Delete so that end users can delete messages from the Web Console. In addition, you can provide end users with access to the Web Console from within Microsoft Outlook. Using this method, you create a folder in Microsoft Outlook that acts as a shortcut to the Web Console.
To complete the configuration process, select a storage policy that uses the MediaAgent that you have configured to delete data.
If you want to provide end users access to backed up messages using the Outlook Add-In with ContentStore Email Viewer, install and configure Outlook Add-In with ContentStore Email Viewer before you enable End-User Delete.

If you want to avoid creating orphaned stubs (that is, a stub with no corresponding backed up message), enable source pruning.
