Create an app with the Amazon RDS account information so that you can back up to and restore from an Amazon RDS SQL instance.
The app provides an easy way for you to manage all the Amazon RDS instances that belong to the same account.
You can add multiple proxy servers to the app. The Commvault software uses the first proxy server in the list for instance and database discovery.
Before You Begin

Obtain an Amazon RDS account.

Obtain a user access key by using the AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM),For more information, go to the Amazon IAM User Guide website, Managing Access Keys for IAM Users.

On Amazon, create an Amazon RDS instance.
Procedure

From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Applications > Cloud Apps.
The Cloud Apps page appears.

Click the Amazon SQL tile.
The Apps page appears.

Click Add app.
The Create Amazon client page appears.

Specify the client information.

In the Client Name box, type the a name for the pseudo client.

In the Regions box, type the region where the Amazon RDS instance is located.

In the Access Key box, type the access key for the Amazon root user that has access to the Amazon RDS instance.

In the Secret Key box, type the secret access key for the Amazon root user that has access to the Amazon RDS instance.

From the Access node list, select a proxy server.

Click OK.

From the navigation pane, go to Manage > Servers.
The Servers page appears.

Click the AWS pseudo client.
The pseudo client page appears.

Under Agents, click SQL Server.
The SQL Server page appears.

On the Configuration tab, under Cloud configuration, click Edit.
The Cloud configuration dialog box appears.

Enter the S3 bucket name and admin account credentials for RDS instance.

Click Save.
