To discover user accounts automatically, enable autodiscovery on the OneDrive for Business app, and then select the autodiscovery method. You can select either regular expressions or Azure affinity groups as the autodiscovery method.
After you enable autodiscovery and define the regular expressions or the Azure affinity groups in the user groups, when a backup operation runs for a user group, user accounts are autodiscovered and included in the backup operation.
Procedure

From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Applications > Office 365.
The Office 365 apps page appears.

Click the OneDrive for Business app.
The app page appears.

On the Configuration tab, in the Infrastructure settings section, next to Auto discovery, click Edit.
The Auto discovery settings dialog box appears.

Select the Enable check box.

To select the method that you want to use for autodiscovery, complete one of the following steps:

To use regular expressions, select Regex patterns.

To automatically create user groups that discover user accounts based on alphabetical order, select the Create subclients check box, and then click 10 or 20.
Note
If you have a large number of user accounts, click 20 to create 20 user groups. Creating a larger number of user groups helps to minimize Microsoft throttling.

To use Azure affinity groups, select Azure AD groups.

Optional: If you enabled autodiscovery based on regular expressions, specify the number of subclients to create based on regular expressions:

Select the No. of subclients to be created check box.

Select 10 or 20 to create either 10 subclients or 20 subclients respectively.
Note
You can create subclients based on regular expressions only one time. After you create the subclients, this option is not available.

Click Save.

Add regular expressions or Azure affinity groups to user groups. If you automatically created user groups based on alphabetical order, you can update the regular expressions to suit your business needs.
