MediaAgent Recovery: Test the New MediaAgent

After setting up the new MediaAgent, use the following methods to test the readiness of the new MediaAgent.

  1. Verify the MediaAgent status. See Status of a MediaAgent.

    You can also run a readiness check report for the MediaAgent computer from the CommCell Console. See Readiness Check - MediaAgent.

  2. Make sure the status of the library used by the new MediaAgent is online. See Library Properties - Status.

  3. Perform a test restore to make sure that the data from the libraries is restored successfully.

    Refer to the Agent-appropriate documentation for instructions about how to run restores.

  4. Perform a test backup to validate the data path to the libraries in the new MediaAgent.
