Use the following documentation when you want to reinstall the MediaAgent software on a different drive.
Procedure

Stop all the jobs accessing the libraries configured in the MediaAgent or wait for the jobs to complete.

Locate the MediaAgent and note down the associated Storage Policies and Clients information.
Storage Policies associated to the old MediaAgent.

From the CommCell Browser, expand Storage Resources | MediaAgents.

Right-click the appropriate MediaAgent, and then click Properties.

Click the Associated Storage Policies tab and note down the listed Storage Policies.
Clients associated to above listed Storage Policies.

From the CommCell Browser, expand Policies | Storage Policies.

Right-click the appropriate storage policy, and then click Properties.

Click the Associated Subclients tab and note down the listed clients.

Disable job activities on each client that are accessing the libraries configured on the MediaAgent.

From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers.

Right-click the appropriate client, and then click Properties.

Click the Activity Control tab, clear the Enable Backup and Enable Restore check boxes, and then click OK.

Stop the services of the MediaAgent.

If you have a index cache configured in the MediaAgent, copy the content of index cache to an accessible location.

If you have a deduplication database (DDB) configured in the MediaAgent.

From the Task Manager, make sure that the SIDB.exe and SIDB2.exe processes are not running on the MediaAgent computer after stopping the services.

Copy the DDB content (that is CV_SIDB folder and icl_label.txt file) to an accessible location.

Uninstall the MediaAgent.

Install the MediaAgent software to a different location.
For more information, see Install the MediaAgent.

If you had a index cache configured in the MediaAgent, copy the index cache content from the location you copied in step 5.

If you had a deduplication database (DDB) configured in the MediaAgent.
- Copy the DDB content (that is CV_SIDB folder and icl_label.txt file) from the location you copied in step 6.

If you had tape library, then detect the devices and reconfigure the library from Expert Storage Configuration.

Enable the job activities on each client that you have disabled in step 3.

From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers.

Right-click the appropriate client, and then click Properties.

Click the Activity Control tab, select the Enable Backup and Enable Restore check boxes, and then click OK.

Perform test restore and backup on the client.
