Getting Started with Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP

Verify that your environment meets the system requirements, complete the file server guided setup, and then perform a test backup and restore.

Before You Begin

Verify that discovery infrastructure is configured by your MSP administrator. See MSP Configuration for Amazon FS for NetApp ONTAP.

Procedure

  1. Review the Requirements for Connectivity to AWS Service Endpoints.

  2. Verify that your access node meets the software and hardware specifications to back up the CIFS shares and NFS exports.

  3. Commvault uses optimized scanning for faster incremental backups. Verify that your environment meets the system requirements.

  4. Verify the system requirements and user permissions for IntelliSnap backups.

  5. To back up CIFS shares using Windows access nodes, verify that your environment meets the system requirements for the Windows access nodes.

  6. To back up CIFS shares using Linux access nodes, verify that your environment meets the System Requirements for CIFS Backups Using Linux Access Nodes.
