Getting Started with 1-Touch for AIX Computers

Complete the necessary steps on Command Center to enable 1-Touch recovery for AIX clients.

Procedure

1. Verify that the File System package is installed on the AIX client that you want to protect.

2. Verify that the Commvault 1-Touch Server package installed on the AIX NIM master server.

3. Verify that the AIX client is configured as a NIM client and reachable from the NIM server.

4. Verify that a dedicated AIX NIM master server is configured to act as the 1-Touch server.

5. Verify that sufficient disk space is available on the NIM server for MKSYSB images.

   Each recovery job requires 6 to 8 GB, but the size of space available must be ≥ 2× the largest rootvg among clients if sharing a logical volume.

6. Verify that TFTP service is available on the NIM server (used during recovery) and reachable from the AIX client network.

7. Enable 1-Touch recovery for the AIX client in Command Center.

8. Perform a 1-Touch recovery of the AIX client.
