If the Command Center is not set up in your CommCell environment, contact your administrator to deploy the Command Center. For more information, see Quick Start Guide.
Step 2: Log On to the Command Center
Accessing the Command Center by using the URL and user account credentials that you obtained from the administrator.
Step 3: Complete the File Server Application Setup Wizard
Configure the File Server application by completing the Setup Wizard for the Servers Application.
Step 4: Add the MediaAgent
To install the MediaAgent in the command center, see Adding a MediaAgent.
Step 5: Install the Windows File System Agent
Install the Windows File System Agent on EC2 instance or on the on-premise computer from where you can access the SMB shares.
Step 6: Prepare for Your First Backup and Restore
A default backup set, which contains a default subclient, is automatically created when you set up the File Server application. The default backup set is designed to protect all of the data on the client computer.
-
Create a subclient for the local client computer and add the SMB share as a UNC path to the subclient content. For more information, see Creating a File System Subclient.
-
You can also create a network share client and add the SMB share as a UNC path to the subclient content. For more information, see Adding a Network Share to Back Up and Creating a User-Defined Subclient for Network Share.
